What is the National Community Foundation (NCF)?

The National Community Foundation was established for Victorian based organisations who want to partner with their staff, stakeholders and communities wherever they are within Australia, and build an endowment fund to support an on-going charitable giving program.

The National Community Foundation is a national, not-for-profit fund, part of a number of funds operated and managed by the Melbourne Community Foundation (MCF). We bring people and organisations together to create a perpetual source of locally held funds (a permanent endowment) as well as a body of knowledge about community issues and needs.

The permanent endowment is invested over time to create a growing and sustainable source of funds for grantmaking to assist in building the social capital of our community - we can continue to support our community long term and meet the needs of future generations.

MCF is an expert in charitable giving to address community issues and needs, and we have the knowledge, experience and expertise to help guide your giving programs. After 10 years of operation, we manage over 120 sub-funds with over $30 million funds under management, from which we have distributed over $9 million to hundreds of projects and organisations in need.
